Visa, Work and Residence Permits 

There are quite a number of law firms in the Netherlands that provide foreign companies professional advice on employment law and assist with work & residence permits. Following are the official agencies involved in visa, work and residence permits for ex-pats.   • The official website on immigration New to Holland will guide you to the government organizations you may have to deal with regarding visa, employment, social security, tax etc.: www.newtoholland.nl
  • Ministry of Justice - Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND) (Immigration and Naturalization Service) www.ind.nl/EN/index.asp (for temporary residence permits/MVVs)
  • Registry Office of Local Town Hall (for application for permanent residence permit within 3 days of arrival in the Netherlands)
  • Center for Work and Income (CWI) www.werk.nl (decides on work permit related issues for foreign workers) - CWI is an independent administrative body (ZBO) that works on assignment from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment.
