Terremark Announces NAP of Amsterdam
State-of-the-Art Data Center to be Completed in 2011
Terremark Worldwide, Inc. (Miami, FL), a global provider of managed IT infrastructure services, has launched the Network Access Point (NAP) of Amsterdam, a 25,000 square foot data center located in the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol Area.
The facility is scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of Terremark’s fiscal year 2011, and will serve as the company’s flagship European facility. The company plans to offer its full suite of services, including cloud computing and managed hosting, at the facility.
The data center will feature connectivity with the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX), one of the world’s largest internet exchanges. It will also include advanced sustainability features, such as green cooling, power and redundancy efforts, and will reuse dissipated heat generated by the facility for optimal energy efficiency.
“The launch of our NAP of Amsterdam project comes as a result of the continued success we have enjoyed in Europe, and is a testament to the high-level of achievement our European team has experienced and the strength of our leadership team in the region,” said Manuel D. Medina, Terremark’s Chairman and CEO.
The Schiphol Group, which owns and operates some of Europe’s busiest airports, has signed on as the data center’s anchor customer.
